Boarding
Schools'
Association

The Boarding Schools' Association is the largest association of boarding schools in the world, with over 550 members in the UK and 23 countries overseas. It represents all boarding schools, independent and state, and has a mission to ‘champion boarding and promote excellence’.

BSA’s work includes professional development for around 2,000 boarding staff every year, policy, advice, guidance, government relations, media relations, communications, marketing, publications, events and specialist consultancy.

We aim to promote excellence in boarding

In 2015, BSA published the BSA Commitment to Care Charter, a requirement for all its members to make the welfare and safety of boarders their top priority and immediately externally report any cases or accusations of abuse. This was the first charter of its kind and demonstrates the serious commitment of boarding schools to provide a safe, secure environment for boarders. The BSA has played a key role in the creation of Boarding School Partnerships.
