Cacey's
Story

Cacey is doing very well in her subjects and has received great comments from her teachers.

Mother is partially deaf and has mild learning difficulties. All 3 of her children have been on child protection plans and "currently on children in need" plans. She has suffered with depression since leaving school and has previously overdosed. The grandmother though living nearby, wants nothing to do with the children. All 3 children have different fathers and are not in contact with the children. The mother has very little regard to Cacey’s welfare and wants the responsibility of looking after  to be taken away from her.

They live on a large council estate. In the evening, the area is busy with youths hanging around of varying ages which feels very intimidating. All the children are living at home although there is a lot of help from many outside agencies. Cacey hangs around with other children on the estate often until 1Opm.

She is classified as a "Child in Need". Social Services and the mother wanted Cacey to go boarding, without which she would have been taken into care.

Cacey has been diagnosed with ADHD and is on the verge of being uncontrollable at aged 11. She has recently been caught smoking by her mother, wears a lot of makeup and is verbally abusive to her mother. It has recently been discovered that she has been sexually abused by a relative. Her self-esteem is at an all-time low. CR has recently stopped all her external activities - Dancing, Karate and gymnastics to hang around with the older children on the estate.

Cacey is doing very well in her subjects and has received great comments from her teachers. She is an excellent sportswoman, in particular gymnastics, athletics and netball. Her exuberant character can sometimes cause conflict and she needs to learn strategies to improve this.
